The following is the upcoming schedule of the activities regarding the BESS Lot near hwy 9.
Civil Work & Foundations Sep 7 – Oct 16, 2026 Duration
6 weeks
Once the loose surface dirt is removed, there will no longer be noticeable dust. Blattner and subcontractors can then begin laying down rock which makes the ground stable and stronger for the equipment to come.
Underground Electrical (Duct Bank & Grounding) Oct 19 – Nov 20, 2026 Duration
5 weeks
In this step of the construction process, the crew will begin digging straight lines along where the batteries are intended to be placed. This process is to allow the work crew to install plastic pipes. Additionally, the work crews will be able to lay cable in the ground and necessary wiring needed for the batteries. Once completed the crew will begin to fill the holes with dirt.
BESS Enclosure & Equipment Delivery Nov 23 – Dec 18, 2026 Duration
4 weeks
This process will be entirely receiving the batteries and transformers. The batteries used for this site will be Tesla Megapack XL battery packs. As the equipment gets delivered, it will be inspected to ensure there are no issues. Blattner will use a crane to unload the equipment from the trucks so light dust will be created.
BESS Equipment Installation Dec 21, 2026 – Jan 29, 2027 Duration
6 weeks
Once all necessary equipment has made it to site, Blattner and sub-contractors will begin to install all 114 batteries. The batteries will be installed horizontally across the yard from east to west near the installed underground cable. (MORE IN THE NEWSLETTER ARCHIVE Section below)
